Shown below is the repair of a cracked neck on an acoustic.

This Takamine acoustic fell and landed on its headstock. The unfortunate result was a cracked neck. The customer said that the crack had been growing for a few weeks.


I needed to see how far the crack went to ensure a quality repair. So some finish was removed to get a better look. A little pressure shows more than just a hairline crack. This crack just made it to the other side.

The crack was opened up to get plenty of glue into the break. It was then clamped overnight.

Here is the finished repair. A satin finish was chosen for a smooth, non-sticky feel.
